I'm a big fan of Twitter although I don't participate very well. :o)
Every Tuesday night at 9pm Eastern time, there is a live twitter chat relating to illustration in children's publishing. If you don't have time to participate, you can find the transcripts on their blog home. Easy to read and convenient.
But I'd still recommend following them on @kidlitart !
