Wish I Was Ocean Size

Summers growing up near Lake Michigan were filled with so many great memories that have become the inspiration for my work as an illustrator.
Days on the beach were part of everyday life for so many years. I miss the Lake!
Favorite beachy memories:
*Sunbathing, listening to the waves lap the shore. I can still hear it.
*Watching the fireworks on the beach. The ohhs and ahhs in unison.
*Collecting beach glass and shells.
*Watching the sunsets every night like it was a feature length movie.
Okay, that's enough before I start to get too homesick. I just need to channel that energy into sketches and see where I go from there.

In the Good Ol' Summertime

I'm fine once I get going, but I do find it harder to start work on summer days.

There's a lawn chair out there somewhere calling my name.

Anybody have any good tricks they use when they can't seem to face the studio?

In the good ol' summertime

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

In the Good Ol' Summer Time:

The highlight of our summer will be taking a trip to my favorite place, Disneyland. We went last year and had so much fun!

Here is a pic taken first time that I went on the "Tower of Terror" with Emily and Jesse. This picture was snapped right before we were PLUNGED downward , simulating a broken elevator. I was ready to disown my wicked children for making me go on this thing!
We went on it several times after this pic and it's now one of my favorite rides. The kids are forgiven.

And where are the two Kevins? On safe ground!

We have managed to find several rides we can do as a family.
Our favorite is the "Pirates of the Caribbean". Kevvy LOVES the steep dips on that one.
=O)

We'll be leaving for Disney very soon! Counting the days...

Weekly Theme: "In the Good Ol' Summertime"

I'm working a lot of late nights lately. I'm happy to have the work and I LOVE what I do, but there are those moments when I'd rather be doing this:
