"Ripple" week on the PBJ Blog

The tragedy of the gulf coast mess has all of us feeling helpless and yes, completely horrified. Artist Kelly Light has decided to do something about it! Kelly has created a project that creates a bridge for all of us artists to help in a way that may seem small at first, but is very BIG in heart, and the movement is growing! The project is called "Ripple" and allows artists to donate artworks. Then, for a $10 donation, anyone may 'purchase' the mini-masterpiece!

This week, the PBJ's will share some of our "Ripple" offerings. Above is my first contribution to "Ripple". I initially named it "Ripple" after the project, but when Kelly titled the post "the new fossils", I thought is was a much more apt description for the piece (great word-smithing Kelly!)

My piece above  is 2.5" x 3.5", illustration board base, India ink & nib, and Pitt Pen original drawing. I hope you enjoy.

You can purchase this piece by following the E-Z instructions on the Ripple blog!

Kathy, Love your Ripple illo- you've got almost every sea creature I could think of represented in a such a teeny 3.5-2.5 space :)!! Very nice!
I'm proud to have been able to donate 2 illo.s myself and make a tiny ripple in this huge wave of wonderful support for the Gulf disaster. Kelly Light deserves a BIG gold star for this fab idea!!

It's lovely Kathy. I like that you've shown so much of the life that is at stake. And Kelly's title is poetic.

This is SOOO wonderful Kath!! I love all those little details. My favorites are the turtle and the little bird under the turtle. Cute!!

The negative space on this illo has a life of its own. Love that too!
