Ripple cont'd

Digital art which will be printed on good quality archival card stock.
3.5 x 2.5

Thank you, Kelly, for creating a platform where illustrators can contribute in a positive way. This is my piece that I'm sending in for Ripple (#384). I realize that Sea Otters do not live in the Gulf of Mexico but they too have been affected by oil spills in the past.
So let's just pretend that this little guy is celebrating that it isn't his habitat this time.

Be sure to dig through the pages, there are some wonderful pieces to choose from. I have found mine and I'm going to go make my donation now so don't steal this from me. It's by a wonderful up and coming artist named Gabriel Padrón.

"Ripple" week on the PBJ Blog

The tragedy of the gulf coast mess has all of us feeling helpless and yes, completely horrified. Artist Kelly Light has decided to do something about it! Kelly has created a project that creates a bridge for all of us artists to help in a way that may seem small at first, but is very BIG in heart, and the movement is growing! The project is called "Ripple" and allows artists to donate artworks. Then, for a $10 donation, anyone may 'purchase' the mini-masterpiece!

This week, the PBJ's will share some of our "Ripple" offerings. Above is my first contribution to "Ripple". I initially named it "Ripple" after the project, but when Kelly titled the post "the new fossils", I thought is was a much more apt description for the piece (great word-smithing Kelly!)

My piece above  is 2.5" x 3.5", illustration board base, India ink & nib, and Pitt Pen original drawing. I hope you enjoy.

You can purchase this piece by following the E-Z instructions on the Ripple blog!

Help victims of the oil spill! The Ripple- Kelly Light effect

My two kids and I made these cards today to help raise money for the poor innocent animals being threatened by the awful oil spill.
Kelly Light is a wonderful and talented artist who decided to do something about this instead of just stare at the news and sigh at the horrible pictures..
If you want to be proactive and do something about this too, now is your chance!
Hop over to Kelly's new blog Ripple (great name isn't it?) and help with the cause. With only 10$ per card you will be doing some good and that's just the best feeling ever.
It would be great is you help spread the word too. Thanks!
