Character Development
I envy artists that have cool sketchbooks....with their beautiful pencil or ink drawings and added watercolor washes. Beautiful montages of characters or scenes. I don't work that way. I sketch on big pads, little pads, tracing paper, xerox paper, whatever is in front of me. And I draw with a regular old No. 2 pencil, like we used in grade school. Of course I've got sketches laying around all over my studio. I stuff them into drawers, find them laying on the floor and sometime months later I'll find a little sketch floating around that inspires me to create a new character or piece of art. What I love about Photoshop is that I can scan in all my little quirky drawings into my computer, pile them onto one sheet, add a scanned piece of lined paper behind them and voila! A page from my sketchbook :o)
Happy Friday everyone!

Ohhhh Deb I love this so much... who cares you don't have a pretty little sketchbook, look what you can do! These sketches are fantastic. I am LOVING that big nose of his.
I have a sketchbook, a moleskine. The flexible kind. But it's not pretty at all. It's very messy. I also sketch with whatever I find near me. Pencil, pen or doggy-chewed up marker. Haha!
These are so adorable and sweet! Lovely collection!!
Very cool and sweet this draw...Bravo!
I love that collage. You should frame it!
Ha! That's how I sketch, too! I use to sketch ideas on post-it notes when I was at work, then bring them home and tape them into my sketchbook.
Cute dog :)
Deb, you just create the cutest expressions on your doggie characters. What a star you are. And love the digital sketchbook page you built. I have a sketchbook but lately it carries more 'to do' and grocery lists. =o))
What a great idea--the digital sketchbook! Great way to bring it all together. Your dog is adorable and fun.
This is super awesome. I love your sketches!!
