Whistle While You Work
I'm another audiobook fan. I like the way listening to a story shuts my inner-critic up and lets my hand and my eyes get on with what they know how to do. It stops me from over-thinking a piece.
Here are some of the audiobooks I've enjoyed over the last couple of months:
- Word by Word, Anne Lamott
- The Giver, Lois Lowry
- Magical Thinking, Augusten Burroughs
- Toast: The Story of a Boy's Hunger, Nigel Slater
- Gods in Alabama, Joshilyn Jackson
- Kira-Kira, Cynthia Kadohata
- Olive's Ocean, Kevin Henkes
- On Writing, Stephen King
- Between, Georgia, Joshilyn Jackson
- Pongwiffy, Kaye Umansky
For convenience, I get my audiobooks from audible.com. I've recently learned from my local librarian (hi Leigh!) that I can download audiobooks from my library too. Cool!
