The Perfect Thanksgiving

As we all sit down today to some type of Thanksgiving meal, I thought I'd share a picture book we can probably all relate to: The Perfect Thanksgiving!
With a fabulous text by Eileen Spinelli and such lively and funny illustrations by Joann Adinolfi, this is a great seasonal read.

This was my favorite spread. I've really been drawn to illustrations with loose, disproportionate and abstract spaces. Not spots, per se, but those imagined spaces where everything works, when logic tells you it shouldn't. Kudos to you Joann Adinolfi! - Be sure to visit her website. I just adore her illustrated 'About' page.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'd like to take a pause to thank my fellow PBJ's: Roz, Alicia, Kathy, and Deb. I'm so grateful to have you all as my friends and supporters.

Thanksgiving

Done with the veggies, bring on the pie! Happy Thanksgiving!

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Thanksgiving Bonus Post

It's not officially my day to post until Friday, but I wanted to sneak an extra post in here just in case anyone out there is cooking their first turkey this year. Many years ago, I created a how-to animation for my sister when she was cooking her first turkey.

Here is an oldie-but-goodie which I hope you enjoy! It's the perfect piece to share for this week's theme of Thanksgiving. I wish you all a fun and feast-filled week!

Here's wishing all of our blog visitors a very happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate it.
I'm very thankful for the blogging community and the sense of camaraderie it brings.
Cheers!

Weekly Theme: "Thanksgiving"

I'm eternally grateful for my family, I don't know what I'd do without them.

This is a portrait of our family, drawn by my son awhile back. The giant guy with the monster belly button is his Dad. I'm the cute one with the bug eyes, mohawk, and pursed lips :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
