Shadow by Suzy Lee

I was in my local kid's book store awhile ago and the cover of this book captured my attention. Opened the cover and I ended up reading the entire book right there. I couldn't put it down—it's brilliant! Every page uncovers so much imagination at work. But it's not just ideas at play, it's true craft. Everything is  executed with beauty, mastery of the medium, and innovation. Some of Suzy's techniques may utilize just a mix of a couple of different types of media, but they are done with such exquisite skill, it just makes the work all the more impressive. And somehow, the art and line work maintains the sense of immediacy, gesture and fun— it never feels overworked. Check out Shadow.
