We recently discovered Todd Parr books at our library. As a non-mommy artist I used to be drawn to the art first - usually something more sophisticated or painterly. That is not Todd Parr's work but I sure was missing out. Now as a mommy artist, my formerly narrow view has widened. My son LOVES these books and I think this time, he's spot on. They are simple and deep at the same time. They are full of silliness and fun, but not dismissive of the harder things kids must face. They are just very in tune with children in all the best ways.
