PBJ's are back cont'd
Hi everyone! For new visitors, my name is Roz and I illustrate for the trade, educational and magazine markets. I'm self taught, learning the ropes from internet resources, generous illustrators and the scbwi.
Initially, my work was created traditionally with felt, fabrics and embellishments. Then a couple of years ago, I developed a digital style that I call "digital felt" where I scan the felts and fabrics then build in photoshop.
The illo above isn't a true representation of my style, though. It's more an example of what I'm doing right now - exploring and experimenting. I created this little girl in Adobe Illustrator and then finished her in Photoshop. Usually I work with tons of layered files and drop shadows but I wanted to see if I could come up with something quicker while still embodying my look. This was fun but wasn't "quicker". It took hours. haha! Oh well, maybe with more practice.
It sure is great to be blogging again and having Deb join our group makes it all that more special! We'll be updating the blog regularly so if you're a "picture book junkie" too, be sure to bookmark us.

So cute Roz. I really love how you treated her hair. Welcome back - you did an awesome job with our new logo & website. Thank you!

Thanks so much, ladies! =o)
Anette, I'm looking forward to seeing the posts too.
I'm so glad the PBJ's are back too, Roz! Love my new home :o) Funny how digital illustration should seem quicker....but it never is. Can fuss with it forever. But it does give you a safety net. If something doesn't work, at least you don't have to start over!!
Hi Anette! Thank you. We are happy to be back. Thanks for visiting! :o)
How great to see you PBJs back on the blogs! The Picture Bookies invite you on over to our little group blog whenever you have a spare moment...and we will be checking in on you all.*:)
