marketing tales..

This is the latest postcard that I sent out.  I think postcards are a wonderful way to promote ourselves. They are small, handy, easy to flip through and easy to file or pin up. A great way to remind editors and art directors that we exist!

For this postcard, I wanted to convey an emotion. I wanted to tell a story. I wanted to keep in simple and keep it sweet. I think this image has all those things and that is why I chose it.

I honestly don't know if it has worked at all. I guess only time will tell... in the mean time, I'll just cross my fingers and wait.  Well.. I'll have to uncross them every now and then in order to keep on working. ;o)

I really love this, Alicia!

It is hard to know sometimes if the cards make a difference, but I think they do. I once had a woman tell me she held on to a map card of mine for 4 years before the right assignment came along! Incredible! ;-)

Thanks Jen! Wow 4 years is a lot! Then again, your maps are timeless. I don't know how you managed to incorporate your lovely style with maps as well, but you did and they are lovely :o)

Thank you so much Kristi! Your comment means a lot to me :o)

So beautiful! When I first saw it I thought it was the front cover of a picture book and I was thinking how much I wanted it :)

This is so beautiful Ali! I also thought it was a pb cover, or a poster of one - so dreamy. I think it will go off into the world and make some magic for you.

Oh... what a nice thing to say Gina. I really hope so :o)
