I Love You All year Round celebration! day 3
This is day 3 and as promised I will continue explaining a bit about the illustration process.
After I had a storyboard that I was happy with, I then started to work on the pop-up pages. This was a little different than usual but who really did all the work here were the wonderful paper engineers at Piggy Toes Press. I sketched the pop-up spread as I imagined them to be, and I suggested to them what I would like to pop, but really they are the ones who know how those mechanisms work. Luckily they liked my ideas and after I sent all the sketches I received a beautiful muck up of all the pop-up pages showing perfectly how those pages would pop-open and close. Some amazing stuff!
to be continued tomorrow...
We have more entries! Thank you Carli and Monica!
Don't forget to click on their names to visit their site.

It's so exciting that you have a pop-up book - I think they turned out wonderfully. A great match for the artwork in their movement and design. Monica and Carli - these both made me smile, too cute!
I'm glad you were able to visualize what should and shouldn't pop up. That would have been a challenge for me!
All the giveawy entries are so delightful! I love party weeks!.
=O)
Thank you guys! They truly did a wonderful job with those pop-ups. It was so exiting to see them all finished and in color when I opened the book for the first time. I think I recall a little bit of jumping up and down from part ;o)
Alicia, it's great to be able to read about the process of creating the book (and about the jumping up and down, too ;))
Monica, you know I love the way you draw dogs :)
Carli, I like the way you're presenting both your loves in one picture ;)
Oh my gosh this is TOO CUTE!!!!
