Dog Days
All the dogs are in my life are the 2-d kind. This was from a magazine assignment a few years ago, still one of my favorite pieces and a turning point in my illustration. Before this assignment my colors where very muted, but with one bright jolt of red I was hooked on adding in a punch of color in my work.
(I'm thankfully avoiding the dog days of summer as I'm currently on vacation in Michigan where we don't even have the air conditioner running!)

This reminds me too much of my Valentine when she was a pup. That girl loved her shoes! =o)
