Around the world in 7 days
This is a piece from my portfolio that I think works with the theme. They have been traveling all over the world on a long journey to distant lands. What do you think they are looking for? :o)
I, like Patrice and Heather, am working on a project right now that fits this week's theme. Sorry I can't really say much about it, just that it has a worldly theme and it involves kids from around the world. I wish I could post some images or talk a little more about it but the client I'm working with wants to keep it a secret until publication time. So that's how it is for us freelance children's illustrators, sometimes even though we are really excited about a project we just have to shhh... keep quiet and respect the confidentiality issues.

Well... this was done for Illustration Friday, the theme was "scale". At first I thought of doing something in the sense of big vs small, but then I thought of the other meaning as to climb. Right then this image popped in my head! Really.. sometimes I wonder what makes an image pop in our heads like that. I don't have an answer to that but I find it fascinating!
