Last Minute Party Guests

Wow. Kristi Valiant came prepared for ALL the holidays!

Donna Berger brought her scarecrow along as a dance partner.

Ruth Barshaw sent her character Ellie McDoodle (as well as Ben-ben and Er-ICK).

This festive little fairy comes from Diane Greenseid.

For the Eats It All drawing, Kristi Valiant also sent in a yummy sounding fall recipe:

Chocolate Zucchini Bread

3 cups flour
3 cups sugar
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
4 eggs
1 1/2 cup veg. oil
2 Tbl butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp almond extract
3 cups grated zucchini
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Combine first 7 ingredients in large bowl. In a separate bowl, combine eggs, oil, butter, and extracts, mix well. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in zucchini, nuts, and chocolate chips. Pour into 3 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake 350 degrees for 55 - 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 20 minutes. Sometimes the chocolate chips sink to the bottom and make the bread stick. I use a metal spatula and gently keep going around the edges and slowly getting it under the bread. But if some sticks to the bottom of the pan, I figure the cook gets to eat it!

Thanks to everyone who dressed up, partied, brought food, or just came to watch!

Stay tuned for drawing results!
