I've returned from several days away, vacationing up in Boothbay Harbor, Maine with family. The time away was long overdue for all of us, and we're still mentally on vacation. I nearly forgot about my post today - until another PBJ reminded me that she did the same thing yesterday!I'll share some highlights of our trip:
1. Reading: I was glued to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo during car rides. I'm hooked, and can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy!
2.Thomas the Tank Engine: The boy has Thomas fever. We're enjoying lots of books, which actually hold his attention more than the TV show. We were lucky enough to ride Thomas up in Boothbay - I might have had more fun than him.
3.Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens: Oh my! Their children's garden was the most heavenly spot to explore. So many interactive exhibits for little ones: fairy garden, bear cave, tree house, water pump, lobster trap on a pier, walking maze, etc. It was a mix between Disneyland and a Martha Stewart magazine. Seriously amazing, and we never saw any of the 'adult' gardens.
4.Sketching: Nope. Not a line. I've hit a drought of sorts. I picked up some fun new colored pens yesterday to kick myself back into shape. I know something will do the trick soon, so I'm not too worried. As soon as I emerge from the vacation haze, I'll share sketches here too.
What a great vacation Gina! I love Boothbay too. Have only been there once, but it was memorable. Lobster rolls...yum! Enjoy the afterglow as long as you can!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Boothbay too!! Let's all go.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great trip was had by all. Love the photo of Miles. He is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteRegarding the "drawing drought", I find that droughts often work themselves out organically, as long as they don't go on for too long. And then, if doesn't break within a short period of time, I force the issue! :)
