This month for my book spot light, I chose the Peppa Pig series from the UK. I absolutely love the simple, naive art and story lines. I truly believe that this deceptively simple style is hard to pull off. Child-like is not easy. I would love, love, love to create something as charming as this myself.
Just for fun, I thought I would post one of the TV episodes available here in the U.S. They are run as 5 minute spots between full length programs on Nickelodeon. I ordered one of the DVDs...for me.
I can't wait to show that to Miles tomorrow Roz! He loves pigs right now and boy are they sweet! I might end up with some DVDs too, hee hee. Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute!! You're so right about child-like not being easy. But that British accent on the pigs helps a lot. Makes even ME want to jump in muddy puddles!
ReplyDeleteWe actually get this show here(Ontario Canada) and my kids love it! They have the best story lines and the little brother George's squeeks/grunts are the cutest. I agree that sometimes simple and clean is just as effective (or more so) then something hyper-stylized and full of effects.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice!
Rozzie this is so cute. Here I am watching on the sofa with my kids by my side. I love shows like these. So simple, cute and funny at the same time. :o)
ReplyDeleteOh good, I'm tickled that you like it too. The english accent does make it all that more endearing!
ReplyDeleteGina, I'm excited, I hope Miles gets enjoyment out of it.
